Here the top plate is being readied for edge marking. The washer is selected so that the line will be 3/32" away from the rib outline.
Before you do the outline, be sure to insert two # 56 drills in the alignment holes through the plate and into the end blocks.
Spring clamps hold tthe ends, then the perimeter outline is drawn.
You can see the bottom of the' rib spyder' with the four (black) screw heads (which space the 'rib spyder up slightly above the bottom surface of the body).

I prefer a fine black ball point pen line as it is durable and easy to see.
Here I am band sawing to just outside the guide ouline. Take your time as mistakes will be noticeable in completed instrument.
